Mass
The third grade will be leading the mass on Wednesday, October 11th. Twelve of the students will have a part in this mass. Parts will be sent home in this week's take home folder. We will practice speaking parts at school, but please practice them at home as well.

Science
This week the class has been learning about types of forces. Students have learned about friction and gravity.

Math
The class has continued to practice the multiplication facts with the factors of 0, 1, 2, 5, 9, and 10. Students have also worked on solving multiplication word problems.

The Topic 2 (Multiplication Facts) test will be next week.

Reading/Language Arts
This week's story was Dear Dragon by Josh Funk. This is a fantasy story about two students being pen pals with each other. It is about looking past physical differences to appreciate the person or dragon underneath. The comprehension skill covered analyzing characters, visualizing, and point of view. Students also worked on the suffix of -ly as the vocabulary skill. Students also decoded long and short vowel words. The grammar skill focused on verbs, action and being.

FAST Testing Results
The results of the fall screening of FAST testing have been included in the take home folder. A note has been included if your child's take home folder if he/she needs an intervention. Please feel free to message me if you have any further questions.
