The beginning part of the week was spent completing the Unit 1 Benchmark test. There are two sections to the this test. Students were also introduced to another form of writing. Students have wrote descriptive paragraphs and personal narratives. This week students wrote opinion paragraphs. Students wrote about whether they would rather have a dog or a cat as a pet, and would they rather have it be hot and swim in a pool or be cold and ski down a mountain. Starting this week, third graders have been participating in meditation and breathing exercises to help students be more mindful in the classroom. Students may bring a towel from home to use.
