3rd Grade Class Field Trip

3rd Grade Field Trip
This year the third grade class will be going on a "Wild 4 Wildlife" field trip at Jester Park in Granger, IA on Monday, May 22nd. Students will learn about Iowa's wildlife through hands on discovery. The bus will leave St. Malachy at 8:30 AM. The class will be at the park from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM.  During this time, students will go on a wildlife discovery hike, lunch, bird blind, elk/bison exhibit, and free time at the playscape. Students should be dressed for outdoor activities which may involve getting dirty. Long pants are recommended on this day. Tennis shoes should also be worn. Students should bring a sack lunch that includes a drink. The bus will be back to Creston around 4:30 PM. Hand held electronics are allowed during the bus ride. Cell phone usage will not be permitted by the students The parent volunteers include Calista Purdum, Melissa Ford, and Leisa Frey. Volunteers will need to ride the bus and fully participate in all the activities during the day.  The cost of the trip is $5 to cover the cost of the public school bus transportation. Please complete and return the permission slip that were sent home in the take home folder along with the five dollars to school by Thursday, May 18th. I look forward to an educational and fun field trip with the third grade class.
