The weekly assessments cover stories that we have read and discussed in class during the week. The benchmark tests assess the skills learned in the previous five lessons in new texts. This is the first time the students will have read the stories. The goal of the first benchmark assessment is to expose students to this type of testing. This is not a test you can work through quickly. It may require students to look back at the stories and reread. I had students take this first assessment on their own, so I could see how each student performed. I will be grouping students differently on the next benchmark test.

Math
The 3rd grade class is continuing to work on multiplication. Students worked on learning the Distributive Property of Multiplication. The class was able to practice using Pop Its. They loved it!
